(Medina, Ohio—June 10, 2008) – On June 7^th, 2008, Main Street Medina unveiled its new membership campaign in conjunction with the 2^nd Annual Main Street Medina Chalk Art Festival. Membership levels start at $40 for individuals/families/seniors to $1,000 for corporate members. Main Street Medina hopes to raise $50,000 in memberships to help fund the projects they have planned. Membership dollars will be directly invested back into the community with events, holiday decorations, and aesthetic improvements.

 

Matt Wiederhold, Main Street Medina executive director, stated “The business community and the City really pulled together last year to complete the application to become an official Main Street Program. Going through the process is a lot of work, and takes money and dedication. The business community and the City were incredibly generous with their donations to support the program in its initial year.” He further stated “The committees are working hard to achieve their goals which are all focused on improving quality of life, bringing alive the historic experience, and attracting new businesses to the historic district.”

 

Membership in the Main Street Medina program is a way for the community to invest in the future of the historic district and the square. There are many perks to becoming a Main Street member, including discounts and special offers from area merchants, advanced tickets for concerts and events, and a subscription to the quarterly newsletter. Special offers will be updated monthly, beginning in July, when the Main Street Medina website is unveiled.
