"Bee" A Part of the Movement!
In 2025, we raised money to convert an underused commercial space on South Broadway Street into a vibrant gathering space called the "Medina Bee Park" to recognize Medina's "bee" heritage. The parklet will be completed this year and will feature lighting, public art, stage and seating, and pollinator planters. The space will provide a relaxing respite for visitors and residents while beautifying a highly visible area of the city. We'll also feature live entertainment from time to time.
A special thanks to the Ohio Realtors Leadership Academy, Acme Fresh Market, Sam Custer State Farm, Ohio Arts Council and the 2025 Annual Appeal Donors for their generous donations, as well as in-kind support from Forever Lawn, Medina Supply/Shelly Co., and City of Medina.
In February, we've launched a Call for Entries (see above) for local artists to contribute their concepts for the mural! And, the Bee Park Team is working hard to order and install all of the elements by June 2026. If you had made a donation to the 2025 Annual Appeal, you'll be invited to “bee” our VIP guest at the “Bloom on Broadway” unveiling of the park during Pollinator Week in June. Donors will also be listed on the plaque at the site.
Donors will receive a "thank you" note in February containing a packet of pollinator seeds that you can plant at home donated by Medina Co. Soil and Water and OPN Seeds! With your continued generosity, Main Street Medina can enhance other areas of the historic city, celebrate our shared heritage, and create welcoming spaces and memorable experiences for all who visit or call Medina home.
