Purchase the Medina eGift Card to use at participating member shops and restaurants in and around the District. Medina eGift Cards can be purchased online for any amount between $5 and $250 dollars, along with a nominal fee, and are then sent digitally to the recipient, who redeems the virtual card at participating businesses.
How to Buy a Medina eGift Cards
  1. ​Go to the Yiftee website to buy an eGift card.*
  2. Log in or Sign up if you want an account to view your orders.
  3. Select or enter the amount you want on the card.**
  4. Choose your recipient(s) and enter their email address.
  5. Compose a personalized message.
  6. Review your order and go to Checkout.
  7. Enter your debit/credit card information and Place the Order.
  8. You will receive a receipt via email or phone message. That's it!

How to Redeem Your eGift Card
  1. Open the email from the eGift card sender.
  2. Print or send your voucher to your mobile device.
  3. You can view your voucher and show it to cashier to redeem.*
  4. Click on "Where to use this card" link to find participating locations.
  5. You can check your card balance so you do not go over.**

* Take your mobile device to the participating location and tell the cashier to key-in the card number (found on the gift voucher page) into their credit card terminal and process like a phone-in order. Can't be used for tips.
** Do not go over the available balance or the card will be rejected. You can pay the additional amount, if any, with an alternate method.

Merchant FAQs

How do I process the eGift Card?
Process it as a credit card (not debit or gift card) and key in the transaction like a phone order. Mastercard will validate. Do not go over the value of the card or the transaction will be declined. If this happens, start over and charge equal or less than the card value.

What if the purchase is for more than the eGift Card value?
Run the eGift Card for the remaining balance on the card, and ask the customer for a different form of payment to cover the rest of the transaction.

What do I do if the eGift Card is ‘declined?'
The transaction is declined if you try to redeem more than the value of the card, or if any of the redemption information is mistyped. Start the transaction over with the correct value and info.

Does the eGift Card function as a ‘pre-paid’ credit card regarding automatic tipping hold-backs?
No. It can be redeemed for the full value. We do not recommend allowing tipping on the card because it is a prepaid card.

Since the eGift Card is like a Mastercard, can it be redeemed anywhere?
No. They can only be redeemed at participating locations.

Is there a fee to purchase the eGift Card?
The gift sender pays $1.00 plus 5% of the gift value. The gift recipient gets 100% of the gift value. The store is paid the full value of the card, less their normal card-not-present Mastercard fee.

Can the eGift Card be used more than once?
Yes. They are multi-use and the current balance and expiration date are always reflected on the digital voucher. Recipients receive monthly reminders to redeem.

Can I apply a refund to the eGift Card?
Yes. Refunds can be applied to a valid (unexpired) card just as you would to a credit card.

Terms and Conditions: NON-RELOADABLE. NO CASH ACCESS. Unless prohibited by law, a $3.00 fee will be deducted monthly from Voucher balance starting 1st day after 12 months of inactivity. Activity means any action resulting in a change in Voucher balance, other than fee imposition, or adjustment due to error or prior transaction reversal.
